June 2011 Archives

iSiS will be unavailable beginning at 3pm, on Friday, July 8th through 7am on Monday, July 11th for scheduled system maintenance.  This will include an upgrade to Peopletools and Patches/Fixes bundle 21/HCM.  This upgrade is not going to offer new functionality, but you will see a slight change to the look and feel of the pages, searches, etc.

Please plan accordingly for this downtime and contact the HELP center at help@uml.edu or ext.  4357 if you have any questions or concerns.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Effective July 2011, UMass Lowell transitioned to a new bookstore vendor, Follett Corporation.  By clicking on UML Bookstore within the iSiS Schedule of classes or a students class list, you can see what book has been ordered for a particular course. This will include book title, author, and ISBN (International Standard Book Number).

Some courses do not call up correctly and the technical team is working to resolve this.  As a work-around --- Students can currently view their books by visiting the new UML Bookstore web page and searching for their class.

Attached is the UMass Lowell announcement regarding the new bookstore.

UPDATE 7/28/11:  Due to iSiS upgrade and technical issues in early July, there has been a delay in getting the [UML Booktore] link within iSiS to directly pull up the course book requirements.   Developers are actively working on this and will have a solution in place before the start of fall semester.

Below is a message from the Registrar regarding Immunization Holds in iSiS for new students:

Please note that if this is the first semester a student is attending the University, the Immunization Service Indicator that prevents registration will not go into effect until September 16, 2011 which is the day after the add/drop period for the Fall 2011 semester.

Students will be able to register with the Immunization Hold still on their record through 9/15/11.
