Secretary Greg Bialecki will be discussing the state's economic development strategic plan, which was recently submitted to the Legislature. The plan outlines five initiatives-including increased support for innovation and entrepreneurship-that build on the Patrick-Murray Administration's job creation and economic development strategy that has led Massachusetts out of the global economic recession faster than the rest of the nation.

There will also be a question and answer session at the end of Secretary Bialecki's presentation.

About Massachusetts Medical Device Development Center (M2D2)
M2D2 is a cooperative effort between the University of Massachusetts Lowell and the University of Massachusetts Worcester. The M2D2 initiative aims to bring Massachusetts-developed medical devices into production. M2D2 has helped over 23 companies bring their products through development and also offers small companies and inventors the ability to license space in the newly renovated innovation hub.  The M2D2 initiative, originally supported with seed funding from the office of the UMass President, also received support from the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative's John Adams Innovation Institute and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

March Madness Spreads to the Medical Device Community!

The Massachusetts Medical Device Development Center (M2D2) will be hosting a New Venture Competition Showcase Event on Wednesday, March 28, 2012.  Novel medical device technologies will be presented, followed by a poster and networking session. 

 

This event will feature presentations and posters by Medical Device start-up companies and inventors featuring new medical design inventions that have been submitted to the M2D2 New Venture Competition tournament. The presenting finalists will compete for a chance to win a total of $15,000 in M2D2 Services including: Engineering Services, Business School Services and Medical School Services. 

 

Come see the new medical device ventures that will be showcased. You also will be able to speak with current member companies and M2D2 Tenants already taking advantage of the M2D2's benefits.

 

This Showcase Event is for Inventors, Entrepreneurs & Small Businesses as well as investors in the medical device industry
