Secretary Greg Bialecki will be discussing
the state's economic development strategic plan, which was recently
submitted to the Legislature. The plan outlines five
initiatives-including increased support for innovation and
entrepreneurship-that build on the Patrick-Murray Administration's job
creation and economic development strategy that has led Massachusetts
out of the global economic recession faster than the rest of the nation.
There will also be a question and answer session at the end of Secretary Bialecki's presentation.

About Massachusetts Medical Device Development Center (M2D2)
M2D2 is a cooperative effort between the University of Massachusetts
Lowell and the University of Massachusetts Worcester. The M2D2
initiative aims to bring Massachusetts-developed medical devices into
production. M2D2 has helped over 23 companies bring their
products through development and also offers small companies and
inventors the ability to license space in the newly renovated innovation
hub. The M2D2 initiative, originally supported with seed funding from
the office of the UMass President, also received
support from the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative's John Adams
Innovation Institute and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Merrimack Valley Venture Forum (MVVF)
MVVF is a non-profit organization that facilitates business growth
in the region's technology and scientific sectors by serving the needs
of entrepreneurs, emerging and established companies, professional
