Lacourciere, Steven A: January 2011 Archives

Well, my first week as a math major has gone pretty smoothly.  So far it is everything I expected.  I am taking Computing I, which mostly an introduction to programming.  It is not a math course, but every math major is required to take 1 computing course.  I know very little about computers, which means I know nothing about programming.  So far it isnít too bad, but letís see how long that lasts.  Luckily, I only have one semester of it.  I still have to get some books, but besides that, I am fully adjusted to the new semester.  It was an easy transition from Biology to Mathematics so far.  Now all I need to do is officially change my majorÖ

All of this snow needs to end now!  I donít mind snow, but this is getting ridiculous.  Morning classes were canceled today, which unfortunately had no effect on me because I only have 1 class on Thursdays and it is at 2.  But I shouldnít complain with that schedule!  But back to the snow.  I am sick of it.  I am kind of missing spring and summer right about now.  Only a couple of more weeks until good weather is back though!  Well, I might be trying to think optimistically, but hopefully it will be soon!

Thatís all I have to say for now.  Iím going to try and write more often this semester than last.  Especially since I have no labs and I have much more free time.  Talk to you soon!

Well, itís time to move back to school.  Winter break has come and gone already.  Five weeks seems like a long time, but it really does go by quickly.  I feel like I just took my last final yesterday, and Iím already getting ready to pack up and move back to Lowell.  This week of classes is my first week as a math major as well.  It will be interesting to see the differences!  I do still have to officially change my major, but Iíll do that this week.  To switch majors all you have to fill out a form, so it shouldnít be too bad.

I am really getting tired of snow though.  After all the snow we got so far this January, I am not sure if I can take any more of it.  Unfortunately, there is a chance of at least a foot on Wednesday.  At least I might get a Snow Day right?

Thatís all for now.  Iíll be sure to update you on switching majors and my new classes!  Talk to you soon!

Holiday Season

Sorry I havenít written a blog in awhile.  Between finals and the holidays plus starting working again, my life has been a little hectic.  I hope you all had a good holiday season.  My Christmas was great.  It was nice to see family and friends again!  Plus, receiving some presents isnít bad either.

Work has already taken its toll on my vacation.  I worked 8 hours approximately 4 hours after my last final.  And I worked Christmas Eve, the day after Christmas, New Yearís Eve and New Yearís Day.  Iím trying to think about the great paycheck that is coming, but so far, my vacation hasnít been too thrilling.  And speaking of New Yearís, I have a new resolution.  My New Yearís Resolution this year is to get back into great shape.  I did run a half marathon in October, but I havenít really exercised since then.  I would like to get back in good shape and run at least another one this year.  I would love to run a couple, or even a full marathon, but letís just take one step at a time.

Well, thatís all Iíll say for now.  Iíll try to write throughout my winter vacation and keep you updated.  Talk to you soon!
