Thanksgiving Weekend!

| | Comments (0)

                Hello!

Well, it is Thanksgiving weekend.  My Thanksgiving went very well.  It was nice to see family and friends again!  Plus the food was very good as usual, and I got to watch football all day with my dad which is always fun.  What is Thanksgiving without food and football right?  But seriously, as a college student, you appreciate the holidays much more.  I don’t often spend time with family for a weekend and it was really nice.  Only a couple weeks away from Winter Break!

Yesterday was Black Friday.  I’m sure many of you went out shopping.  Some maybe even at 3 or 4 am.  Me, on the other hand, waited until 11.  The only reason I did go shopping was because I wanted to buy a Christmas tree for my dorm room.  I bought a 6 foot prelit tree for 30 dollars.  It’s great!  I can’t wait to set it up in my room tomorrow!

It is now time for the final push of the semester.  There are only 2 weeks of classes left, then finals.  My last final is December 20.  I have a week between the last day of classes and my first final, so I’m actually going to see if I can start working again sooner than I thought.  All students can check their finals schedule on ISIS.

That’s all I have to say for now.  I hope all of your Thanksgiving weekends went very well and I hope your holiday season goes even better!  Talk to you soon!

                Hello!

Can you believe its almost Thanksgiving?  This semester absolutely flew by!  I feel like I was just moving into the ICC, and now I’m preparing myself for the final push of the semester.  On another note, I am definitely changing majors to math.  I just need to decide which concentration to study.  I am deciding between applied mathematics or bioinformatics.  I am going to wait until I take a computing class next semester until I make my decision.

Although it’s only Thanksgiving, I feel that Christmas decorations are everywhere.  There are holiday wreaths around Lowell, and when I went to the mall, they were playing Christmas music and Santa’s village was set up already.  I love Christmas as much as anyone, but isn’t it early?  I’m not complaining, but just stating what I’m seeing.

I think I mentioned it in a previous blog, but some friends and I are playing intramural soccer.  It’s really fun and it’s great to kick a soccer ball around every once in awhile.  I do actually miss playing it sometimes.  Once you play a sport for over 10 years and then stop playing, it’s only natural to miss it.

That’s all I have to say for now.  Talk to you al very soon!

Changing majors!?

                Hello!

Sorry I haven’t written in so long.  I had 3 tests last week and I have been doing a lot of thinking.  I am pretty sure I am going to change majors.  I am currently majoring in Biotechnology, and I am going to switch to Mathematics.  I am currently minoring in math, but I enjoy it too much to only minor in it.  For my math concentration, it will either be in applied math or bioinformatics.  I am going to take a computer science course next semester.  If I enjoy that class, I am definitely going to do the bioinformatics option.  I enjoy math, but bioinformatics includes a lot of computer science.  If I find out that I enjoy computers, then I may have found my perfect major because it will combine math, biology, and computers.  I’ll update you on my decision process!

My friends and I also started playing indoor soccer for intramurals.  We lost our first game last week, but it was still fun.  It was great to kick a soccer ball again.  I played soccer most of my life and once in awhile, I do miss it.  Plus, playing soccer is a great way to release some stress.

Can you believe Thanksgiving is in a little over 3 weeks!?  I feel like the semester just started, but we are getting ready for the final push!  If you have read my blogs from last year, you’ll know that Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, which means I’ll probably mention it every blog for the next 3 weeks.

That’s all I’ll say for now.  I’ll try and talk to you all soon!
