October 2010 Archives
My race went surprisingly well! My time was 1 hour 39 minutes and 30 seconds. It was a 7 minute and 36 seconds mile pace. I actually beat my goal by 5 minutes. At about the 11 mile mark, I saw a clock and it said an hour and 23 minutes. I was shocked. I couldnít believe I was running so well and I even felt good. The last mile was tough, but I luckily was able to run fast enough to get under an hour and forty minutes. Although I am sore today, I canít wait to sign up for another half-marathon!
School is going well too. The semester is flying by though! I canít believe it is late October and Thanksgiving is a little over 5 weeks away! Even though there is much more work than last year, I am able to have a social life. Some friends and I are signing up for intramural indoor soccer. We did it last year and it was fun so we decided to do it again this year. Plus itís only once a weeks for a month so it isnít a huge time constraint either. Itís all for fun.
Thatís all I have to say for now. I hope to talk to you all soon!
Well my half marathon is tomorrow! Unfortunately, I havenít been able to run in 2 weeks. I hate to see all of my training over the summer be wasted away because of too much homework, but thus is the life of a college student. I know I can finish, but I just wanted to run well. Regardless, it will still be fun! (Yes, I actually enjoy doing this)
Now, Iím just watching the bruins. I already ate dinner, so now Iím just trying to relax and drink a lot of water. Even if Iím not properly trained, I can still prepare for the race and it will help greatly. My goal over the summer was about an hour and 45 minutes, but now if I can just finish strong, Iíll be happy no matter what time I receive. Wish me luck!
Iíll write tomorrow or Monday to update you all on my experience!
Well, it is October, which means it is Fall! I absolutely love Fall. I hate to see summer pass us by, but fall definitely has its perks. Apple pie and pumpkin pie are absolutely amazing. You can have these pies year round, but they just symbolize fall. My mom baked an apple pie for me this week, and I must say that it is everything I hoped for. Besides the awesome food, the weather is really nice. The weather is just cool enough for jeans and a sweatshirt, which is perfect. Plus my birthday is in October so that may be a reason for me to love fall.
I also have a half-marathon in 2 weeks. Unfortunately my training has taken a hit during September due to schoolwork, but hopefully my training over the summer will pay off. I did go for a nice 11 mile run a couple weeks ago, so I should definitely be able to finish, but I want to finish strong. I am going to try to go for another long run in the next week just to get mentally ready for the race. I will let you all know how everything goes!
Thatís all I have to say for now. Talk to you soon!
