Hello!
Finals week is finally upon us. Only exams separate college students from summer vacation. Me, like many others, have very little ambition to study. Luckily, my first final is next Tuesday, so hopefully I gain some ambition before then. And honestly, I don’t feel like summer vacation starts in less than a week. It just doesn’t feel like finals week to me at all. My friends and I have little stress. We don’t know whether to be happy or worried about it. Also, the weather hasn’t been too great, so maybe that has something to do with it not feeling like summer vacation.
It feels weird to be moving out of the ICC forever in a week. I’ve lived here for 2 years, and it just feels different to not be coming back here in the fall. Luckily, I am going to an apartment, so moving out isn’t that bad. It will be a completely different lifestyle though. Cooking my own food, sleeping in smaller beds, actually being close to campus a few things. I’m sure it will be a good experience!
That’s all for now. I guess I’ll try to study. Have a good one!
Hello!
Well, we are down to the last day of classes and finals. Honestly, most my work is already finished. All that’s left for me is two finals and one take home final. Plus, I have practice finals for my two scheduled finals, so studying won’t even be that bad. Both of those finals are actually next Tuesday and Wednesday, so I have a week off between classes and exams. Because of all my free time, I’m actually tutoring for 30 hours this week. Since all of my friends will most likely be studying, I figured I should be productive as well.
I can’t believe summer vacation starts in a week and a half. This semester went by so fast. It seems like every semester goes by even faster than the previous one. This summer will be a good one though. This is probably my last summer not working full time, so I better make it count!
I think I mentioned it in an earlier post, but me and my friends are living in an on campus apartment next year. We are going to try and cancel our meal plans in order to save some money. I’ll be sure to keep you all updated about this whole process as the summer and next semester unfold. Honestly, there just isn’t too much to say about it at the moment.
That’s all for now! Talk to you all soon!
Hello!
The end of semester this year is pretty brutal. I have so many assignments and papers, but luckily, by the end of the week I’ll be pretty much done. Plus it’ll be spring weekend! Spring weekend is always a good time because the semester is winding down, we have a day off from classes, and there’s spring carnival.
My friends and I are still wicked excited for the apartment. We are happy that we got an apartment through the school instead of trying to find one in Lowell. Dealing with a landlord and rent and all of that stuff can be very difficult or annoying. Going through the school is way easier.
Also, I’m going to drop off my completed graduate school application. Now it is just the waiting game. I’m not too worried about getting in, but it’ll be nice to receive the acceptance letter.
That’s all for now! Back to the papers!
Hello!
Well housing selection for next year is upon us. Luckily my friend had number 36 (somehow) and me and my friends have an apartment on Moody Street next year. The ICC has been fun, but it’s time for something new. We took 4 of the 5 beds in the apartment and some random took the fifth bed. Hopefully, our roommate is nice and everything works out. We are really excited and we don’t want it all ruined by having a bad roommate. Even at number 36, there weren’t a lot of free apartments left, so we just took what we could get. We were all just sick of living in dorms. Like I said, it’s been fun, but it’s time to move on.
Just an fyi, the dates for traditional room retention, selection, and roommate pull-in are coming up this week, so plan accordingly!
That’s all I have for now. Talk to you soon!
Hello!
I hope everyone had a great Easter weekend! Mine went very well. It is always a good weekend when you hang out with friends and family, as well as eat great food. It was nice and relaxing too, especially since I really didn’t think about school, even with an exam on Monday. Now let’s hope I’m ready to finish the semester strong!
I am almost done applying to graduate school too! I’m pretty sure I mentioned it before, but I am applying to the plus program here at UML for applied mathematics. I finished the application and I got two letters of recommendation done. I only need a third and I’m all set. I’m hoping to ask the third person tomorrow.
I should also be going to advising tomorrow. It’s always better to do it early then wait until the last minute. Last semester, I didn’t go until after I could enroll in classes. Luckily, I still got the classes I wanted, but I’m going early this semester just in case. I already made out a schedule, so as long as nothing unexpected happens, it should go smoothly tomorrow.
That’s all I have for now. Talk to you soon!
Well, Easter weekend is upon us! I enjoy Easter a lot. I mean what’s not to like? We have candy and ham or lamb. For someone who enjoys food, it isn’t too bad of a day. It’s nice to see family and friends as well, don’t get me wrong, but good food is always a plus.
Advising starts this week as well. I planned out my schedule for next semester and I only have to take 13 credits to continue on track to receive my Bachelor’s next year. I only have class on Tuesdays and Thursdays too! As long as my advisor doesn’t change anything, I think I’m going to have a good semester. This also gives me more time to work too. I do have a test on Monday, but that’s really it for awhile, so I’ll go to advising sometime this week or next week.
Housing selection is also coming up. My roommate actually got number 36 in the lottery, so we are hoping to get a really good room for next year. We don’t know exactly what we want to do next year, but suite and apartment selection is next week, so we have to decide soon!
That’s all for now! Have a good Easter!
Hello!
So where did the 80 degree weather go? I understand that it is still March, but still. I want it back because I miss it already! Luckily, it will be here soon enough. I can’t believe April is right around the corner either. In four days, April will be here. Spring semester always seems to go much faster than fall semester. It is probably because all of the breaks and long weekends in the spring. Just look at the month of April. We have two three day weekends, plus Easter. And we just had spring break a couple weeks ago. The next month is going to go by fast and then finals will be here then summer! I can’t wait!
Well, the housing situation for next year has finally arrived as well. Honestly, my friends and I don’t know exactly where we want to live yet. Living in a double at the ICC is pretty difficult to give up. Unfortunately, I think suite selection takes place after room retention, so we either stay where we are or risk it and try and get a suite. Honestly, I’m perfectly ok with staying at the ICC. We’ll see how it goes!
That’s all I have for you today. Talk to you soon!
Hello!
Well, after spring break, I am back into the swing of things. I already have two exams this week. I guess vacation came to a very unfortunate screeching halt. What makes it even worse is trying to study when it is almost 80 degrees outside. It’s pretty difficult not going to lie. Luckily, I think I can get most of my studying done during my free time while tutoring, so it won’t be too bad. But if you all can enjoy this weather, do it! We are going back to the 50s next week. I still have no complaints with this winter and March. It could definitely be much worse, and honestly it probably couldn’t much better either.
I still can’t believe it’s going to be April in a week and a half. As you all know I’m a huge summer person, so just the fact that it’s going to be April very soon makes me pretty happy. It’s almost beach season, although this has been a great beach week even though it’s March. Being at the beach all last week during spring break made me miss summer so much. It was like a tease, but luckily summer will be here shortly!
That’s all for now! Enjoy the weather!
Hello!
Well, it is the end of spring break and it has been amazing. Currently I am driving through North Carolina coming back from a vacation to Georgia. I went with the Ultimate team for a tournament. I really haven’t played too much due to tutoring and school work, but I found out there was an empty seat so I took advantage of it. It was a great week of staying at the beach and playing some ultimate. I have no regrets about deciding to go. I didn’t want to leave, but it will be nice to be home. Plus I’m coming back to 70 or 80 degree weather, so I really can’t complain.
Now that spring break is basically over, it’s back to reality. Back to tests, quizzes, and homework. The most important thing I probably have to do this semester is applying to grad school. I forget if I mentioned this before, but I’m going to do the 5 year program here at UML in applied mathematics. I’m hoping the whole application isn’t too difficult. I’ll let you know how it goes!
That’s all for now! I’m actually about to fall asleep so I’ll talk to you soon!
Hello!
Well, we have reached the halfway point in the semester. So far, I’ve been doing very well with absolutely no complaints. I have performed well academically and have been able to have a good social life as well as adding work to the equation. Plus, I’m in a even better mood because the weather is starting to improve too! It is going to be in the 60s on Thursday! This is awesome. I can’t wait until summer. Even though this winter has been great, it still isn’t summer. I still haven’t been able to hang out on a beach. Summer will be here very soon!
Next week is spring break and like many other college students, I will be heading south. I will be going to a ultimate tournament in Georgia. It is located near a beach so obviously we will be hanging out there. We’ll be down there for a week but we only play for about 4 days so there will be a lot of time to enjoy ourselves too. I can’t wait!
Well, that’s all for now. I’ll talk again soon!
