I just came back from a long weekend!! It was fun and a great learning experience. As I said on my last post, this weekend was going to be the second part of a conference I attended two weeks ago. The second part of the workshop was long and very challenging. It started on Friday afternoon with the 5-minute presentation where we had to describe the problem and the solution of our venture, as well as to describe some key points we accomplished over the two weeks after the first part of the workshop. I did pretty well during my presentation; I received good feedback from the audience... I felt very comfortable standing in front of about 50 people while delivering my speech.. So I think that my Oral Communications class has paid off... The conference started on Friday at 3pm and finished today at 4pm.. It was loooooong but I learned a lot and I got the opportunity to interact with other entrepreneurs and learn about their ventures... events like this surprises me because there are so many people out there with great ideas.. I wish the best to every venture and I hope I see their products soon.
During the conference I learned how to market our venture and what segments of that market we can target first... I thought that deciding the market was going to be easy, but it was one of the most complicated things we had to do. It was very hard which market was best to target first.. At the end I think we figured it out... Now we just need to move forward and keep working very hard.
The next weeks are going to be even crazier than what they have been so far... I have sooo much work to do.. I guess it's time to reduce my hours of sleep down to 6 so I can go back on track.... I can't wait to finish... I have worked so hard over the past three months.. I think I deserve some time for myself... I will have it soon ;)
I hope you guys had an awesome weekend and I hope you learned something new.... I will be back for more updates next week ... Thank you for reading my blogs ;)
Time is really flying by.. I'm here again to give you some more updates... As usual, my week was very busy.. full of meetings, papers and presentations. However, since time is flying by we are getting closer and closer to the end of this year. This is the first time since I moved to school that I haven't been home for two weeks straight. Coming home is awesome.. be with my mom and my sister makes me relax.. and at least I have some time to chill and forget about school...
This is a long weekend, I'm not going to do much but study and work on my capstone and lab project. I will be going downtown Boston on Monday to celebrate my friend Simon's birthday. He's finally turning 21. It's going to be a fun night full of food, drinks and karaoke. I can't wait...
On the other hand, I'm working very hard in school so I don't get caught up with too much work towards the end... I'm gonna take advantage of these three days and do as much as a can.
I will be going back school tonight because I need to focus.. being home is soooo comfortable and I can't get much done... This morning I woke up and since I haven't watched TV in a while, I turned the TV on and got hooked up to different shows.. To make the long story short.. I ended up taking a shower at 3pm.. before that I didn't do much but sitting and watching tv...
This week coming up is going to be a little stressing.. Next weekend I have to give a 5 minute presentation to pitch a business plan.. It's going to be the second part of the NCIIA workshop I attended last week... I'm a little nervous.. The presentation is going to be very challenging.. It's a 5-minute presentation with 20 slides which each slide needs to change automatically every 15 seconds... Isn't that crazy???? I'm pretty sure I will do fine, but I'm still anxious and nervous...
It was a very smart choice to take Oral Communications as a GenEd course because one way or the other I've been practicing for the past couple of months.. I think this 5-minute presentation is the moment of true.. I'm gonna prove how much I've learned in class and how much has been worth to take it..
Wish me good luck.. I will returning next weekend and tell you what happens during the presentation..
Thank you all for reading my blogs!!! ;)
Here I am again with my weekly updates... I just came back from a 3-day workshop in Boston. The workshop was about bringing a business idea and take it to the next level. In my case, it was an opportunity to learn and target markets where my idea can be used. It was a excellent entrepreneurial opportunity because I got to meet great people and learn about their experiences..
The workshop was very intense, it started on Friday afternoon and it ended today at 3pm. There will be a second part for the conference in two weeks where we will have the chance to talk to people who are willing to invest in the ideas exposed by different entrepreneurs.
This workshop took most of my time, the only fun thing I did was on Friday night,. It was my sister's birthday and I drove down to Boston to meet her.. We went to Venu, a club in downtown Boston... We had a good time, especially because they played couple of old Spanish songs we used to sing when we were little.... It really brought me back to my teenage years back in Colombia...
Right now I have no much energy but I need to recharge my batteries because the week ahead of me it's going to be a busy one... Couple more weeks down the road and I will be crossing that stage.. Also to finish my update I want to share some good news. This week I received an email saying that I will be located in Melbourne, FL for my internship with General Electric... I'm so excited for the summer..I'm going to have a lot of fun.. I can't wait
My update has come to an end.. Have fun this week and expect to hear from me next weekend! ;)
For those of you who celebrate Easter I wish you guys have a good time with family and friends. Easter is a good excuse to be with your family and spend some quality time with them. As I said before, I love my family and I enjoy every moment I get to spend with them. My family has been a great support and the best way to thank them is to dedicate them at least cuple of hours every week.
As usual, I was very busy thrughout the week. But today I don't really want to bore you with all the work load I usually have. This week was very productive and I did a lot towards my Capstone Project. Since I feel I'm weeks behind schedule so I decided to spend more hours than usual and work on it. I made a lot of progress this week and I'm looking forward to finish it. Graduation has motivated me to work extra hard. I can't wait to walk across the stage and get my professional degree but before this happens I have a huge responsibility on my shoulders.
This weekend I'm going home and celebrate Easter, But maybe Saturday night I will go to the movies and see "Alice in wonderlan". Then I will back in school and keep working hard. Weeks are flying back and I need to catch up with all the work I have. Thank you for reading my blogs and please enjoy the beautiful weather this weekend. It's going to be very sunny and nice!
